What do I want before commissioning?

You can communicate what you want via email (see the top of this page) or through the platforms that I'm in (again, see the top of the page). You may also contact me via Discord (kefkorr), but I would ask a few questions - including your username and things to ensure that you aren't a bot.I ask that you provide information of what you want immediately or put something a bot won't post when you are sending a message to me rather than ask if commissions are open or something generic that would raise red flags (e.g. "I need help").It is also why I prefer you use email for communication over other platforms; saves a lot of hassle and formalities.I do not oblige you to fill out a full, formal commission form (would prefer to be loose - to poke on details before settling things) but I require that you send me what you want me to do (incl. options/types, format) so that I can formulate a quote/price for you, alongside references - including images or descriptions. I will ask further questions if there are things to be considered or left out by you.

Payment and General Process

  • I currently only accept payment through PayPal.

  • Prices shown here are in USD and only for personal use. Prices for commercial use will be different/arranged.

  • By agreeing to commissions, you acknowledge that you are at least 18 years old or older. I will check if I'm in doubt.

  • You have the right to keep the commission anonymous or private; you need to tell me in advance or during the process if it is the case.

  • I have the right to not work on what you propose to me, without disclosure.

  • A sketch may be provided to give you an idea of how the image will go at first before full work is commenced. Such work after a basic sketch will not begin until a part of payment is paid and the full, original image will not be sent until it is fully paid if it is in a split payment.

  • Split payment may be negotiated, but this must be arranged in advance.

  • There will be no refunds when commissioned work begins. The only case that there will be a refund from me is if I cannot complete the work or I cancel it.

  • No turnover time - but expect it to be done quickly in under a month; but if I can't do it, you will be refunded. You will be updated if my circumstances change.

Usage

  • The commissioned work/image will be copyrighted to me. This includes the right to copy, share, and repost the content for promotion. I will not provide the working file with layers (.psd or equivalent) to the client without negotiation of rights.

  • I will guarantee the full original image to be kept for at least three months, but after that, it will be non-guaranteed.

  • I will not claim your characters or work as mine. Likewise, you cannot claim the work as yours nor attempt to remove any identifying watermarks. You may request a watermark-less version, but you are only allowed to post the watermarked version publicly with credit towards me.

  • You may only use the finished image from the commission for personal use, unless arranged prior for commercial use.

  • Editing an image substantially without permission is not allowed unless arranged prior with commercial use. You can crop or resize the image, or rearrange transparent images with a colored background as long as the watermark is retained when posting publicly.

  • If the image is to be used commercially (e.g. print, merchandise), it must be arranged prior to the commission being agreed; with the exception of commercial use for NFTs, crypto and/or genAI. The final price will be decided by me.

  • You will not tokenise/mint the image into a form of non-fungible token (NFT).

  • You will also not use the image as a reference point for generative AI services or models (incl. but not limited to finetuning/training, img-to-img, and edit via inpainting). This includes posting a derivative form of the image.

Note that the following information is not fixed. I may accept something I won't do on a case-by-case basis and may reject the former if I don't feel like it or unable to.

1 - I will do fan characters from IPs (e.g. an OC of a species from an IP) but not characters of existing properties (e.g. Sonic) as I don't like working on them in fear of getting things wrong. This is still on a case-by-case basis, so ask on what franchise you'd want me to tackle.
2 - Personally I don't feel I have the competency/skill to do human faces but I am still open.
3 - Not enough for me to know my competency but not used to it, but open.
4 - I usually don't like finishing off works with uncolored sketches (even if cleaned up); I consider myself a completionist. I am open to that though at a price lower than lineart.

Lineart

I can work with flat colors, cel shading, and fully shaded lineart with no additional charge as it takes not much to complete - though I prefer cel shading. Unless specified, that will be the default.

Miscellaneous / Experimental
